Abstract:
This paper explores a range of immersive and experimental media technologies and how they are being used to engage visitors in narrative context for cultural and historical artifacts. the “on-site” experience is changing, particularly in cultural museums. This paper focuses on the use of advanced digital media technologies in creating immersive, story-driven visitor experiences, and explores how new media technologies are being used to create cultural context and narratives. It raises issues of representation, authenticity, integrity, and inclusivity.
