“Real Pirates: The Untold Story of the Whydah from Slave Ship to Pirate Ship” makes its Canadian Debut! The exhibition opens tomorrow at the Manitoba Museum (October 17, 2014).
“Real Pirates” tells the true story of the Whydah, a real pirate ship that sank off the coast of Cape Cod nearly 300 years ago. It showcases treasure chests of coins and gold, jewelry, weaponry such as cannons, pistols, and knives, and a replica of the actual ship that visitors can board. “Real Pirates” provides visitors with an unprecedented glimpse into the unique economic, political and social circumstances of the early 18th-century Caribbean.
The exhibition will be on view at the Manitoba Museum from October 17, 2014 through April 19, 2015.
