“Real Pirates: The Untold Story of the Whydah from Slave Ship to Pirate Ship” is opening from March 8 through Sept. 2 at National Geographic Museum, Washington, D.C. Films and multimedia elements were produced by Blue Bear Films. Real Pirates tells the story of a slave ship turned pirate ship and gives some insights into the violence and idealism of early 18th-century piracy. The exhibition has drawn hundreds of thousands of visitors in Philadelphia, Chicago, Norfolk, Phoenix, St. Paul, and other venues.
